Blog Topic: Take 2

After donating blood yesterday (which is a log to itself) I WAS going to write about Community, until a certain Electronic Communications Coordinator down the road wrote a thesis about it.

I thought it was just cool to see students (including ones I recruited) , faculty members, coaches, and friendly neighborhood admissions professionals all getting together for the greater good. It was a good feeling!

Anyways, but that's over. I saw this today and I wondering when it's coming out for the 360.

But, I LOVE stuff....

I read this blog and I found it compelling because it feels like the media is always trying to push how great some young person is AND how they are way better than me. Whether it was how Marc Andreesen was going to handle BIll Gates back in the day or Ashley Qualls (who is alluded to in the post) today.

Luckily, as long as I have enough money to go out to McDonald's or When Eddie Met Salad (right after payday) for lunch, I recognize my life as being pretty good.

However I like STUFF... So, I hope when the competition bug hits you this helps!

Creative Underground

This is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy.

Every school has students like this.

These are the students who spend hours on Facebook, work tirelessly on YouTube videos, and are generally the types of students you'd love to have as Tour Guides and Orientation Staff BUT you can't find them.

I can't wait til Spring Break is over (well, I don't even want to see those movies).

Is California right about homeschooling?

I heard about this on the radio and I have mixed feelings.

Here is an article

Full disclosure, my wife is a teacher and I can't imagine someone trying to just pick up and be a teacher with no formal training. So, I 'm definitely understand why California is trying to implement some reforms.

But, I get the test scores for my school. Home School students always trend high. I noticed it 10 years ago. I notice it today. it's unbelievable.

What do you think?
